Barack Vs Ron Paul

This Blog has been created in response to an email thread discussion amongst a few comrades in the Phoenix area. Obviously in an email a discussion can easily get disorganized. In this blog we will keep attempt to debate one subject at a time.

The Blog has been named Barack vs Ron Paul as the main debators in the initial conversation were either Ron Paul supporters or Barack Obama supporters (namely me, YAY!! Barack Obama 2008)

I will thus begin the blog with a copy of the initial email I pasted indicating a few of the reasons I support Barack Obama.

I absolutely support Barack Obama... He is the best candidate I have
seen in my lifetime. Even Republicans are starting to support him even
some former Bush people. His problem is that he is facing a well
established machine in Clintons team, and people are so ignorant.
People in general know they are mad at Bush and they want change, but it
is a natural tendency for people to resist change as they arent
comfortable with it. Its the fear of the unknown factor that is
involved and it is a natural human tendency. People remember that the
economy was way better during Bill Clinton's term. The value of the
dollar was worth something, Oil was under $50 a barrel, gas was under $2
a gallon, we had balanced budgets for the first time since the illegal
Fed was created, etc... However, Bill's presidency wasnt perfect
and he failed at many things including Health Care.

If we want real change we cant replace Bush's establishment with the
Clintons. I can not imagine being ruled for nearly 30 years
consecutively by both the Bush and Clinton family. So many lobbyists
control these families and they are so engraned in the system that
neither family is for the people any longer.

Sen Obama is genuine and will not only bring about fresh change that we
desperately need, but he will also work with both parties and be capable
of implementing the change we need. His approach toward foreign policy
is also what we need. We need to show the world that America is back
and that we are going to be the Leaders again... not the Imperialist
(that we have been) that Bush has solidified us as.

"Even some former Bush supporters and advisers are Obama converts. Three
former major fund-raisers for the President have given money to Obama.
One of them, James Canning, a Chicago financier, is openly supporting
Obama after he grew tired of what he calls the G.O.P.'s "Neanderthal
positions on things like stem cell research and global warming." Mark
McKinnon, Bush's chief media consultant during both of his presidential
campaigns, has warned his clients - including Senator John McCain - that
if Obama wins the Democratic nomination McKinnon won't work against him
in the general election. And Matthew Dowd, Bush's former top political
strategist, told the New York Times that the only candidate that appeals
to him this cycle in either party is Obama."

JC,

I will make it simple for you, rather than try and “prove” your point about racism in America just answer me one question. How is Ron Paul related to the information about racism relevant? You referred to him as a “supremacist.” Yet you provided no detail or references to back up your point. I brought up the one area you may have been attacking which is the fact that he voted against a Civil Rights Act in 1964 www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul188 . If you looked closely, this had nothing to do with the principal of the bill, it had everything to do with violating rights. “The Civil Rights Act of 1964 gave the federal government unprecedented power over the hiring, employee relations, and customer service practices of every business in the country. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 not only violated the Constitution and reduced individual liberty; it also failed to achieve its stated goals of promoting racial harmony and a color-blind society.” The point is that Ron Paul will not support anything that is unconstitutional, bottom line. As I said before, this makes him as much of a “racist or supremacist” as an anti-war protester is unpatriotic. There is absolutely no relevance. But… as for a rebuttal to your whole point, you have yet to show me any sort of proof that would classify Ron Paul as a “supremacist.” Please do not try and divert the original debate to unrelated topics. I am addressing your accusation directly. Ron Paul is not a “supremacist.”

Juan said “Ron Paul is still very much a Supremacist and has verified that by some of his stances.”
